Pay: $65,000 - $75,000 / year

Job Overview:

Are you passionate about driving safety and fostering a culture of accountability? We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Driver Safety Trainer to lead engaging and effective training programs for our commercial drivers. In this role, you’ll combine your deep knowledge of FMCSA regulations and OSHA standards with strong communication skills to deliver training that is not only compliant, but impactful and memorable. Your efforts will directly contribute to enhancing safety standards, promoting proactive risk management, and reinforcing a strong safety culture across our fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Training: Lead both classroom and field-based training sessions using the Smith System Driver Safety methodologies.
• OSHA Compliance: Provide OSHA-compliant instruction for Powered Industrial Trucks and Aerial Lifts.
• Safety Monitoring: Observe and evaluate driver behaviors to ensure adherence to safe driving practices.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain meticulous records of training activities, certifications, and evaluations to ensure ongoing compliance.
• FMCSA Adherence: Ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations, including driver qualification files, Hours of Service (HOS) logs, and vehicle inspection documentation.
• Coaching & Feedback: Offer constructive coaching and feedback to reinforce safe driving practices and address any unsafe behaviors.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Safety, HR, and Operations teams to continuously evolve and enhance training strategies.
• Performance Analysis: Analyze performance metrics and incident data to drive continuous improvements in safety outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in delivering Smith System Driver Safety Training .
• OSHA certification to train on Powered Industrial Trucks.
• In-depth knowledge of FMCSA regulations , DOT compliance, and driver documentation requirements.
• Exceptional facilitation and communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and compliance documentation.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Valid Driver's License
• Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug screening
