Job Description

Position: Platform Engineer III

Location: 1932 Wynnton Road, Columbus, GA 31999

Duties :

• Develop, analyze and maintain tools that support and automate processes for hardware or software product release.
• Write installation scripts and programs for installation of products.
• Work with project teams to determine an appropriate build schedule and then initiate the build and packaging process.
• Compile and assemble software from source code.
• Ensure tools are stored in source control.
• Support developers for software package registry and delivery.
• Work with others to complete analysis, evaluations and design alternatives and to implement process improvements, security and compliance protocols.
• Work with development engineers to correct build errors.

Minimum Requirements :

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical degree plus 4 years of experience in IT positions performing the following:
  • Demonstrating experience in developing projects across all phases of the project life cycle.
  • Demonstrating experience in developing functional specifications and user interface designs/wireframes.
  • Applying understanding of how systems support business operations including technical requirements and modeling concepts. 
  • Working simultaneously with technical IT resources and non-technical business resources and users.
  • Applying statistical research methods into systems issues.
  • Reviewing complex data and deriving summary conclusions. 
  • Applying experience using data query tools to perform data analysis, profiling, and validation.
  • Utilizing experience with:
    • ULM Class/Sequence Diagrams,
    • Use Cases,
    • Story-boarding,
    • Scrum, and
    • Atlassian Tools Suite including Jira and Confluence.

In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical degree plus 2 years of experience in IT positions performing the aforementioned.

Salary Range: $111,197 - $140,000

Position may be eligible to work in a hybrid/remote model and is based out of and reports to Aflac offices in Columbus, GA.   Must be available to travel to Columbus, GA regularly for meetings and reviews with manager and project teams within 24-hours’ notice.
