Established in 1909, George Junior Republic (GJR) and its affiliates provide opportunities for success and wellness to the individuals, families, and communities served. In late 2025, GJR in PA will expand services to include the opening of a Juvenile Secure Detention Facility in Fayette County, PA.

In order to meet the needs of the youth placed in the facility, GJR in PA is hiring up to 15 Behavioral Health Technicians.

Summary of the Position: The Behavioral Health Technician will be assigned to work 7 a.m. - 3 p.m., 3 p.m. - 11 p.m., or 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the safety, security, and ensure effective operations of the facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Implement treatment/programming and attend treatment team meetings
2. Provide safety and security at all times
3. Complete documentation as required
4. Provide food service to persons served
5. Coordinate daily youth activities and follow established routine in order to support structure
6. Complete required training per policies and regulations
7. Pass medications
8. Provide safety and security when transporting youth.

Requirements:

1. Associate's degree or successful completion of 60 credits.
2. Experience working in a secure detention facility preferred
3. Must have a valid driver's license

Working Conditions

Lifting Requirements

Up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Physical Requirements

Must be capable of implementing safe crisis management techniques and performing CPR.

Work Location: This position is responsible for working in the Fayette Secure Detention program.
