North Bronx Islamic Center

In the Bronx neighborhood of New York City, the North Bronx Islamic Center (NBIC) is one of the biggest mosques. The Islamic Center’s Board of Trustees wanted to construct a mosque that would become a famous landmark in New York City. It was decided that the Mosque would be the project’s initial stage.

In 1996, the trip began. 2011 was the formal start of construction, Al Hamdu Lillah, the building was completed despite delays in 2018. Along with additional costs, the building cost exceeded over 2.5 million dollars.  The four-story structure, which is 15,000 square feet in size and has a basement, is located at 261 E 206th St in the Bronx, New York 10467.

The North Bronx Islamic Center (NBIC) is designed to fulfill the functions of a Muslim institution. It offers five daily prayers, Jummah prayer on Friday, funeral service and other Islamic services.

Mission and Vision: The North Bronx Islamic Center (NBIC) goals include assisting the whole Muslim community of North America in general and the nearby Muslim population of the North Bronx in particular. This would be accomplished in three ways: (1) by meeting their religious needs, giving them a place of worship, and classes that would help them and their children learn in-depth information about their religion, Islam; (2) by educating the American public opinion about Islam’s true teachings, ideology, philosophy, and culture; (3) by giving Muslim communities in the Americas access to religious guidance, correct religious opinions, and legal judgments of the Islamic law; (4) encouraging mutual respect and goodwill between Muslims and non-Muslims.
