Technical Sales Manager, Paint & Interior
West Star Aviation, LLC is seeking a Technical Sales Manager, Paint & Interior in Perryville. Primary responsibilities include targeting paint and interior upgrade opportunities, identifying sales leads, and providing customers, Regional Sales Managers, Technical Sales Managers, and Program Managers with technical analysis in preparation of routine to complex work packages. It is preferred that the Technical Sales Manager be on-site. Standard business hours are 8am 5pm, with the expectation to work as needed to accomplish sales objectives, which may include longer hours, customer entertainment, dinners, and attending industry trade shows or events. This position reports to the Director of Technical Sales.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Business Development and Sales to achieve annual sales objectives.
- Utilize Salesforce.com, AMSTAT, Corridor and other aviation databases to manage and identify sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with Regional Sales, Technical Sales Managers, and other Modification Sales Managers regarding opportunities in their region, site, or program.
- Reach out to customers to inquire about the status of paint and/or interior upgrades and organize internal schedules of sales opportunities based on probability of capture.
- Provide customers with technical support including technical requirements, proposal terms and conditions, and other data related to customer inquiries.
- Collaborate with Designer/Design team to ensure customer needs are met; be present during specification sessions with customers.
- Prepare sales presentations, contract reviews and proposals to ensure successful transactions, independently or with other departments as needed.
- Communicate with Contract Administrators to answer questions and provide input on RFQs, including reviewing quotes for technical data accuracy.
- Conduct routine cost analysis of completed jobs by reviewing historical costs vs current proposals.
- Monitor conformance to original proposals and ensure all work scope, terms, and conditions are met.
- Attend industry trade shows and vendor events to maintain relationships and develop new ones.
- Establish relationships with key vendors to support future system upgrades, materials, and customers to target.
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of aircraft modification methods, including interior reconfiguration and paint methodologies.
- Use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other necessary software systems.
- Travel for customer opportunities when necessary and possess a valid drivers license with a clear driving record.
- Other duties as assigned.
