We are seeking a few dedicated, detail-driven tax professionals to support our team through the busy season. Whether you’re looking for full-time hours or a stable, part-time schedule of 30+ hours per week, we have room for experienced preparers who want to do high-quality, consistent work — without the pressure of moving into review or management roles.

You’ll Get a Chance To

• Prepare individual returns for high net worth clients
• Review prior returns and client documents to determine the correct forms and approach
• Identify and apply relevant deductions, exemptions, and credits
• Calculate taxes owed and ensure timely, accurate filings
• Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of all client financial information
• Support clients with questions and identify discrepancies or potential errors
• Work independently and react well under pressure during peak season

What You Bring to the Team

• 2+ years of tax preparation experience
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax codes
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Professionalism, discretion, and reliability
• Commitment to a seasonal schedule (January–April, September-October) with flexibility around part-time or full-time (30+ hours/week)

Preferred Experience

• High-net-worth and complex 1040s
• Gift/trust returns

Aldrich makes internal equity a consideration in all pay decisions. A reasonable estimate of the current range for the full time position is $35-$50 per hour.

What You Should Know

This role is able to be a part-time or full-time seasonal position and can be either in-person or hybrid out of either our Portland or San Diego offices. Our standard office hours are Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM. Seasonal Tax Preparers primarily work during the traditional busy season from January through the April 15 filing deadline, with a second peak period in the weeks leading up to the October 15 extension deadline.
