Job Description

Summary / Objective:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Retirement Plan Administrator to join our team. This individual will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day administration of Defined Contribution and Multi-Employer retirement plans. The role requires a strong understanding of ERISA and related regulatory frameworks, as well as the ability to manage complex plan operations with precision and professionalism.

Essential Functions:

This role serves as the primary point of contact for various corporate retirement plans, actively preparing for and attending Board meetings while providing expertise on complex retirement plan matters. A deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations related to qualified retirement plans is essential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary administrator for assigned retirement plans, acting as a lead contact for clients and plan sponsors.
  • Interpret plan documents and offer plan design consulting for new plans and amendments.
  • Advise clients on complex retirement plan matters and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide high-quality customer support.
  • Manage plan conversions and transitions with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Complete tax filings, including 5500, 8955-SSA, 5330 forms
  • Coordinate and support plan audits and year-end reporting.
  • Oversee and perform annual compliance and nondiscrimination testing.
  • Engage in daily trading, trust reconciliation, payroll processing, and loan/distribution processing, as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities may include other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience administering Defined Contribution retirement plans.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations.
  • Proficiency in compliance testing, audit support, and tax filing for retirement plans.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong Excel skills; accounting acumen preferred.
  • Experience with Schwab Retirement Technologies (SRT) platform is a plus.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ASPPA, NIPA, CEBS) are preferred.

 

Work Environment: Hybrid/Remote Option

This role offers flexibility for hybrid or remote work arrangements, depending on the candidate’s location and business needs. Occasional on-site meetings or in-office days may be required, especially during critical project deadlines, audits, or board meetings.
