Express Employment Professionals is hiring a  Truck and Heavy Equipment Mechanic  for a leading company in the Sumterville/Villages area. This is a great opportunity to join this global company with stellar benefits!

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain vehicles, including a company’s fleet of cars, trucks, heavy equipment, tractor/trailers, and other motor vehicles.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes, tire changes and tune-ups.
• Perform tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function.
• Identify mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.
• Test drive vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Own tools are required.

Truck and Heavy Equipment Mechanic Requirements:

• Two years of related experience required.
• Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair.
• Excellent mechanical repair skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read service and repair manuals.
• Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in auto repair or related field preferred.
• Commercial driver’s license a plus but not required.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
• Must be able to lift 50 – 75 pounds at times.
• Must be able to work safely in a noisy area.
