Overview

We are seeking an experienced attorney with expertise in compliance investigations to join our Legal Department’s Enterprise Investigations team. Our team of seven internal investigators handles reports and allegations related to healthcare fraud (including False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback statutes, and Stark Law), conflicts of interest, theft, fraudulent schemes, contract concerns, data privacy issues, discrimination, harassment, reporting failures, and other misconduct.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex investigations involving compliance, ethics, and employment issues, including case intake, background research, interviews, and stakeholder debriefs.
  • Review and analyze reports from various channels, addressing allegations of fraud, corruption, privacy violations, conflicts of interest, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and misconduct.
  • Ensure prompt, thorough, and timely investigation and resolution of compliance and ethics reports.
  • Collaborate with e-discovery and forensic teams to identify, preserve, and collect relevant data and documents.
  • Conduct internal investigations, including document review, interviews, and data analysis, under supervision of counsel.
  • Document investigative actions and findings accurately; prepare reports and communicate outcomes effectively to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources and Employee Relations on employment-related actions stemming from investigations.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and recommend remedial actions; determine disclosures to federal or state agencies as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, training, and education programs based on investigation findings.
  • Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and compliance within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • 5-8 years of experience managing complex investigations, preferably in a large healthcare or corporate environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and act with urgency when needed.
  • Strong collaboration skills fostering a respectful and inclusive environment.
  • Excellent interviewing, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to healthcare and corporate investigations.
  • Analytical skills to review complex data and documents, and synthesize relevant information.
  • Capability to evaluate issues and advise senior leadership effectively.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and ethical decision-making.
  • Ability to clearly explain complex issues and work effectively in a team.
  • Attention to detail and process improvement skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.

This role is hybrid, requiring 3 days in the office per week. Internet connection must be via cable broadband or fiber optic with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $132,700 - $221,100, based on experience and location. Eligible for an annual bonus plan. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, well-being programs, 401(k) with match, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, at least 18 days of paid time off, and holidays.
